INTERVIEW

Proudest Athletic Achievement ?
Becoming a division 1 athlete!

How and when did you get started in your current collegiate sport?
I started playing volleyball at age 10. I would go to the local high school games with my mom and fell in love with the sport from then on.

What other sports did you play growing up? Anything memorable about playing many sports?
I played soccer and basketball until high school.

What was the biggest challenge you faced on your way to becoming a collegiate athlete?
I come from a small town in Washington that doesn’t have many athletic resources and organizations. At age 12 I knew that I wanted to be a collegiate athlete and with the help of my parents I was able to find high-level clubs in Oregon. From then on we spent 10+ hours on the road each week to attend practices and competitions, which was very difficult at times but I wouldn’t be here without going through that challenge..

Can you share a breakthrough moment in your early career that shaped your path to today?
Branching out to big cities for higher level competition has highly shaped my path to where i’m at today.

How do you maintain your fitness level in the off-season?
I train several days a week at New Athlete in Vancouver, Wa. I also love to hike during the summers at home!

How do you go about your mental preparation before competing?
I tend to disassociate with everything outside of the my game. I like to listen to music and get pumped up with my girls

What has been your most difficult moment while being a student athlete?
Balancing school, social life, and staying locked in during season is difficult. You have to dial in your priorities and put in a lot of work behind the scenes.

What’s your major and what do you want to do with it post graduation?
I am majoring in business administration – marketing. Post graduation I plan to work for an athletic apparel company.

Do you see yourself as a role-model and if so, how do you approach that role?
Over the years I have taken on lots of leadership roles, including coaching, leadership committees, ect. I know there are people that look up to me and I remind myself that constantly to keep myself on the right path.

What advice would you give to someone who aspires to be an NCAA student athlete?
Never give up on your aspirations, use those who doubt you as fuel to keep making strides forward.
Always be the hardest worker in every room, regardless of skill.

Your motto for life?
focus on what you have control over, and make people smile!

What is your biggest success?
My academic achievements

Favorite places/destinations?
My favorite place to visit is Hawaii

Who do you look up to and why?
I look up to my mom the most. She has been my biggest supporter all along, and has given me the best advice through life.

Current passions outside of sports?
I love to be outdoors. My favorite things to do are go on hikes, watch sunsets, and go to the beach!

What’s your next big goal to achieve?
A big goal of mine is to be on an all conference team.

What do you do best? And what makes that possible?
I am a good leader. I find it easy to connect with everybody. I put others before myself and find joy in seeing other people learn, grow, and succeed in all aspects in and out of sports.

What has been your favorite NIL partnership?
I would have to say my favorite NIL partnership through 98Strong has been Olipop. I love all of their products and always have them around, my team loves them too!

Why should other student athletes join 98Strong?
98Strong makes it super easy to capitalize on the opportunities we can have as student athletes. It is difficult to balance school, athletics, and social life, while still trying to make an income on the side. 98strong does pretty much all of the hard work for you, at no cost!

What has been most rewarding for you in being a part of 98Strong?
I got to be a part of a super cool group while working with 98strong, where we spent a few days in LA making content. I made some great friends and got to see firsthand how cool the 98strong team really is.
