Role Overview:
Our ideal candidate is an individual who can multitask in a fast-paced sports environment - coordinate and manage endorsement social media campaigns between national brands like OLIPOP, Brooks Running & Vuori and elite college athletes in an efficient manner. You must have superior attention to detail and high-level communication skills in order to succeed in this role with solid familiarity working with Excel and Salesforce.

Account Director
Role Overview:
We're looking for a seasoned and strategic Account Director to lead high-impact brand campaigns across the college sports landscape. In this role, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for key national clients like OLIPOP, Brooks Running, Vuori, and others — managing endorsement campaigns with elite college athletes from concept to execution.
This is a senior-level position for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, can think strategically while managing details, and knows how to build strong, lasting relationships with executive-level clients. You’ll oversee internal team members, ensure campaign excellence, and drive measurable results for our most valued partnerships.
As a key leader within an early-stage, high-growth startup, you’ll play an instrumental role in shaping the future of 98Strong and elevating the way brands engage with the Gen Z athlete audience.
Key Responsibilities:
Own and manage end-to-end execution of complex influencer and social media campaigns with national brand partners
Lead strategic communication and relationship management with executive-level clients
Supervise and mentor Account Managers and campaign support team members
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients — proactively offering insights, data, and campaign recommendations
Develop timelines, track deliverables, and oversee creative approvals and reporting
Manage internal cross-functional collaboration between talent, creative, and operations teams
Ensure a consistently high level of campaign performance, client satisfaction, and retention
Represent 98Strong at industry events, brand meetings, and athlete activations as needed
Desired Skills & Experience:
3-5+ years in account management, client services, or brand partnerships (agency or sports marketing preferred)
Proven experience managing high-ticket clients and large-scale campaigns
Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
Strong leadership and team management experience
Creative problem-solver with a proactive mindset and sharp attention to detail
Familiarity with influencer marketing, especially on Instagram and TikTok
Deep understanding or sincere interest in college athletics and Gen Z consumer behaviorComfortable working in Excel, Google Suite, Salesforce (or similar CRM/project tools)

Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment Strategy Development:
Develop and implement innovative recruitment strategies to drive Student Athlete sign-ups across multiple channels.
Community Building:
Foster and maintain a sense of community among new and existing Student Athletes, ensuring they feel supported and engaged with the platform.
Outreach and Partnerships:
Identify, initiate, and cultivate relationships with key partners, including coaches, athletic programs, and sports organizations, to expand our reach.
Marketing Campaigns:
Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns that resonate with Student Athletes and encourage platform sign-ups.
Data-Driven Decisions:Monitor and analyze recruitment metrics to optimize strategies, improve conversion rates, and drive continual growth.
Onboarding Experience:
Oversee the onboarding process for new sign-ups, ensuring a smooth, positive, and engaging experience for each Student Athlete.
Event Management:
Plan and manage virtual and in-person events, workshops, and webinars aimed at engaging prospective Student Athletes and promoting platform growth. This includes traveling to Universities.
Ability to create content and be a storyteller at campus visits, events and more for 98Strong to leverage across their channels and showcase our work to clients.
Cross-Department Collaboration:
Work closely with marketing, sales, and client services teams to align recruitment strategies with overall business objectives and deliver a seamless user experience.
Student Athlete Advocacy:
Serve as a key advocate for Student Athletes, ensuring their needs, interests, and feedback are incorporated into platform updates and community initiatives.
